Plastic, Oh Plastic.

Today I found out about all of our junk being in the Ocean. Apparently the little stickers we peel off our apples have also been found in dead birds bodies. I find it sick... And I feel guilty. Whenever I peel a sticker of an apple or take the lid of a coke. I will Always make sure that It ends up in my bin.


                                                   The ten  things I am going to do to help is:                      

I am going to stop buying bottled Juice and Coca-cola and Instead using my Soda stream to make it instead.

I am going to stop buying plastic wrapped toilet paper.

I am going to shop at the Greengrocer more often.

I am not going to eat plastic wrapped food

I am not going to use disposable shopping bags.

 *Gulp* I am going to give up chewing gum.

I am going to not buy bottled water.

I am going to Get my parents to do the same for all of these things.


I am not going to buy bread unless it is unwrapped or wrapped in a paper bag.

I am going to use a metal drink bottle.

Swimming sports.

Last friday I competed in the RIMU swimming sports!. I entered in two competitive events, which  were breastroke and freestyle, In freestyle I came 5th and In breastroke I came third. 
In the non competitive events I entered I got third in all of them, Which were Doggy paddle, Dolphin dive And under water swim. I am happy with these results because I was really nervous in the morning and I did a lot better than I expected. :] Thanks to memorial pools for providing an amazing venue.

Second Menu

I am going to cook my second three course meal this weekend along with the one I was meant to do last weekend but we ended up going to a party.

Mathopolis

In my class we have been using a website called Mathopolis to practice our basic facts, In my five minute test today I got 155 correct, which is my high score, This score has been improving over many weeks, I can't wait to see my score in another 5 weeks! 

I would like to get at least 200..... :]

Midway Island pollution

Today in class we watched a video about how our junk is effecting birds that live 2000 MILES AWAY from a continent!.

Here is what I wrote to them: This video was SO sad, It makes me angry at the people who dump their rubbish in the ocean, This HAS to stop, Otherwise the whole world will be effected by our junk in the ocean…. I think that we can all help by not throwing our rubbish into the sea, If Everyone in the world stops it and we get teams cleaning up the garbage it will be fine, We must fix this before its too late!.

          This is my iMovie about the water cycle.



My reflection: This took me three days to make, On the first day I met up with my buddy Nathan and we did research about the water cycle. 
Three things I learnt were how to use iMovie, ALL about the water cycle and about condensation.

One thing I found difficult that I overcame was using google docs because I am new to all of this stuff, but I practiced and it worked! :)

Two benefits of working with a partner is that it builds teamwork and you learn more off them.

My first homework challenge

My homework challenge at the moment is teaching my 2 and a half year old cousin the national anthem, Also we are going for a long walk this distance so that is adding to my 60km walk.
I have been enjoying my homework so far as it has been fun walking and teaching my cousin the anthem, I should be done next week. :)
